Neues Amt Altona and Smart Cooperative Partnering in NAAchbarschaftskiosk in Hamburg for Social Innovation.
One person’s challenge can be another’s solution. Together with Verein zur Förderung von Kunst und Stadtteilkultur im Neuen Amt Altona e.V. (NAA), we’re launching the NAAchbarschaftskiosk in Hamburg. The idea? To create a platform that combines local needs with social integration. Over the course of a year, we will design and test a concept in and around Neues Amt Altona that strengthens community ties and opens up professional opportunities for Hamburg newcomers. Our goal is to develop a sustainable model that demonstrates how innovative solutions can enhance social inclusion.
The Smart Cooperative is proud to contribute to the NAAchbarschaftskiosk as one of ten innovative projects selected for funding by #UpdateHamburg. In close collaboration with Neues Amt Altona e.V., we’re creating a space that seamlessly connects neighborhood support, innovation, and professional integration.

Why Smart? Our Mission in the Project
The Smart Cooperative is a solidarity-based network for creatives, freelancers, and self-employed professionals. Since 2016, we have been supporting our members with a hybrid model that combines the benefits of traditional employment with the flexibility of self-employment. This combination offers economic security and entrepreneurial freedom – a vital mix for those just starting out in a new environment.
Within the NAAchbarschaftskiosk, we take on a key role by:
- Providing guidance and security: We assist participants in developing economically viable projects and offer support through our cooperative structure to protect against risks like illness or income fluctuations.
- Building networks: We ensure that the kiosk’s services are sustainable and well-integrated into the local community.
- Empowering individuals: Our goal is to provide long-term opportunities for newcomers to contribute their talents and skills to Hamburg’s vibrant city life.
#UpdateHamburg – Innovation Meets Social Responsibility
The #UpdateHamburg initiative funds bold and innovative solutions to pressing societal challenges. The NAAchbarschaftskiosk is a perfect fit, as it blends professional integration with social services and local resilience. Covering four key themes – social inclusion, health, climate, and education – this program underscores the significance of our project, positioning it as a model for Hamburg and beyond.
