WorkCoopHub: Where Knowledge Comes Together

WorkCoopHub: Knowledge Coming Together

In a cooperative, people with different professions, experiences, and skills work alongside one another. One member knows their way around grant applications; another knows IT security inside out. Some have already worked through questions that others are only beginning to face. The knowledge is there. The challenge is finding ways to share it.

With the WorkCoopHub, Smart is creating new opportunities to do just that. The training module is now online, and the first learning materials are available to members. This gives collaborative learning a permanent digital home. What the library will eventually contain also depends on the knowledge members themselves bring to it.

What’s already in the library

The library currently starts with three videos covering the basics of workplace safety. Its search and filter functions make it easier to navigate the collection, and they will become even more useful as more materials are added.

Members and external experts can suggest training materials and learning opportunities for the community. If you have specialist knowledge or experience in a particular field, you can help make it accessible to others, too. What you have learned along the way might become a useful guide for many more people.

There are practical benefits to sharing knowledge. People don’t have to work everything out from scratch every time. Others can learn from experience, avoid familiar pitfalls, and find a way forward. Sometimes, a single useful tip is all it takes.

Learning from the challenges we face at work

The WorkCoopHub events program shows what collaborative learning can look like in practice. Members bring their own topics and share their expertise. Workshops and events take place online and in person, and some are also open to people outside the cooperative.

A recent workshop explored neurodiversity and freelancing. How can different ways of working be accommodated? Which tools and approaches can make everyday work easier? And how can freelancers better account for their own needs? These are not abstract questions. They have a direct impact on how people organize their working lives.

In November, the program turns to European funding opportunities, including how to prepare a successful Erasmus+ project application. Another workshop looks at LinkedIn: How can freelancers use the platform to promote their work without getting caught up in the pressure to market themselves constantly?

The topics come straight from working life. That makes the exchange concrete. One person brings a question; someone else may already have found a way to tackle it. And anyone who shares their expertise can offer insights that others might otherwise have struggled to find.

Your idea belongs here

The WorkCoopHub brings together a digital learning library, workshops, and opportunities to meet in person. Members contribute their own topics and expertise, helping to shape a program around the questions and experiences of the people who use it.

There’s room for more ideas. Perhaps you know a subject inside out. Perhaps there’s something you’d like to explore with others. Or maybe you have an idea for a workshop where other freelancers could benefit from what you’ve learned.

Have an idea for a workshop, online or in person? Get in touch at events@smartde.coop to discuss it with the Smart team.

The training module is up and running. Now the library can grow: with knowledge that members already have, and with ideas that emerge when people share what they know.

The WorkCoopHub is supported by the Innovation Programme for Business Models and Pioneer Solutions (IGP) of Germany’s Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy (BMWE).
